  1.                               Introduction

  3. This  book  is  not  about assassinations, at  least  not  solely  about
  4. assassinations.   It  is  not  just  another  book  about  who  murdered
  5. President  Kennedy or how or why.  It is a book about power,  about  who
  6. really controls the United States policies, especially foreign policies.
  7. It  is a book about the process of control through the  manipulation  of
  8. the  American  presidency and the presidential  election  process.   The
  9. objective  of  the  book is to expose the  clandestine,  secret,  tricky
  10. methods and weapons used for this manipulation, and to reveal the degree
  11. to which these have been hidden from the American public.

  13. Assassinations  are  only one of many techniques used  in  this  control
  14. process.   They have been important only in the sense that they are  the
  15. ultimate method used in the control of the election process.  Viewed  in
  16. this  way, an understanding of what happened to John or  Robert  Kennedy
  17. becomes more important because it leads to a total understanding of what
  18. has  happened to our country, and to us, since 1960.  But the  important
  19. thing  to  understand  is  the control and the  power  and  all  of  the
  20. clandestine methods put together.

  22. Much  of  the information in the book has been published before  in  the
  23. magazines  "Computer  and  Automation" and "People and  the  Pursuit  of
  24. Truth,"  both edited and published by Edmund C.  Berkeley,  Newtonville,
  25. Mass.   The material on assassination and other events covered is  based
  26. on  evidence  collected  by  the  author  individually  or  through  the
  27. Committee to Investigate Assassinations.  References to documentation of
  28. this evidence are given throughout the book.
